1969-2002
Melanie Evelyn Bowling Brown, 33, of Worthington, Ky., entered
eternal rest at 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, 2002. Mrs. Brown was born June 13, 1969, in Ypsilanti,
Mich., a daughter of Helen Preston Bowling and the late Lawrence Bowling.
Melanie was a former employee of Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital
and Our Lady of Bellefonte Outreach in Flatwoods, Ky., as a pediatric nurse.
She was also a foster parent in the FIVCO region for 10 years, was a member
of the National Foster Parent Association and was employed by Murray State
University. She was a graduate of Russell High School. She was of the Baptist faith and was a direct
descendant of the original settlers in eastern Kentucky.
Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, David
Allan Brown; seven daughters, Christina Burkhart of Flatwoods, Carolyn Renee
Brown, Heather Nicole Brown, Helen Aleigha Brown, Odessa Jennetta Brown, Kendra
Elaine Brown, and Megan Rein Brown, all of Worthington; four sons, Maxwell
Allan Brown, Christopher Lee Lyons-Brown, Kyle David Brown and Isiah Justin
Brown, all of Worthington; one sister, Sonja Elaine Moore of Worthington;
and one brother, Randall Bowling of Ashland, Ky.
Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, at Evans Funeral Home in Raceland by the Rev. Marvin Boggs. Burial was in Preston family cemetery in Milo, Ky.
